Since 2015, " Schitt's Creek" has been one of the most charming shows on television. Schitt's Creek is a Canadian television sitcom created by father and son Eugene and Dan levy and aired on CBC television from January 13, 2015, to April 7, 2020. It consists of 80 episodes spread over six seasons. The series follows the formerly wealthy Rose family's trails and tribulations.
In a small feat, the Rose's family acts like, well, an actual family. They give each other grief ( frequently, and to great effect), get annoyed by each other, but also not -so- secretly love each other. The family dynamic on "Schitt's Creek" is complicated.
I only just finished the series recently and my favourite part of the show was the family dynamic and how the characters grew and improved themselves. You can really see how David and Alexis directly take after their parents: eg,
Jonny: is conventional and emotional needy.( I don't mean that in a disappearing way, I just couldn't think of a nicer way to put it).
Moira: is unconventional and emotional independent.
Alexis: is emotional and independent like her mum, and conventional like her dad, ( in her past she was in reality TV and pop shows).
David: is emotional needy like his dad, and unconventional like his mum, (eg, in his past he ran a gallery with experimental/extreme performance artists).
We learn from them following points:
• stand up for those that have stood up for you.
• Sometimes, money can take away more than it can give.
• Pursue your desires, even if they're a little daunting and scary.
• Support the people you care about whether they ask for it or not.
• There's no Shame in Exploration.
• Be vulnerable.
• Money can't buy a lot of things.
