How’s life been treating you? It's been a wild ride but that's why I love being a musician! Where did your inspiration come from for your upcoming record? The state of the world right now. I like to think the record just holds a mirror up to our society and highlights why people have been depressed and why there is anarchy. Where did the name Marina City originate from? The two honeycomb towers in the heart of downtown Chicago. Shout out to our hometown! Who are your biggest influences? So many! Big fan of artists who did more than just do what they are known for. Made their careers into empires like Prince, Michael Jordan and Jackson, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Pete Wentz, Donald Glover, Matty Healy, etc. What does style mean to you in regards to fashion? I think you can wear whatever you want as long as your confident with it. I personally like to be loud, flamboyant, but also sleek because that's the persona I want! There are definitely pieces of clothing I wear that could be ugly but if I'm feeling it then it could work. If you're scared of what you're wearing people will notice. What is your ideal work environment? Fast-paced, energetic, something new every day. What was it like to share the stage with Judah, The Lion, Lovelytheband, Coin and Joywave? They are all musical influences of ours. It was a ton of fun and really pushed us to be better musicians! What do you think led you to partner with major brands such as; Chicago Bulls, MTV, Chicago Bears, Warped Tour, and Riot Fest? Being good people haha! But for real we got those opportunities from being kind to everyone, working hard, and creating connections! [Walk me through your thoughts in regards to when you performed live on WGN News] Well, it was definitely nerve-wracking to play live on television but we had to remind ourselves we were there for a reason. We are a good band and we deserve to be there. Then we settled in and played how we always play. I think staying calm and trusting the process always works! What are your strengths & weaknesses? As a band, I think our strengths are connecting with people, being relatable, humble, and dedicated. Our weaknesses are our reach, and not having a full team yet! What social issues are you most passionate about? It's weird that it is a social issue but honestly treating people like humans, treating people equal, not caring what a person looks like or loves, or their religion, or whatever. This planet is cool because of all the different kinds of people. Respect it! How do you respond under pressure? I would say really well. Pressure motivates me. I don't necessarily love it but I like to think I rise to the occasion! During these past few months what have you learned from COVID? So much! lol I can go on for days but I think the most important is not taking the simple things for granted. Seeing your grandma, wandering around at the mall, seeing a local show, game night. Being alone sucks. To View Their Website [Click Here]
